A court athlete retraining landing mechanics at the Bulletproof clinic
COURT SPORTS

Ankles, knees and shoulders that have to cut, land and jump again.

Basketball, volleyball, badminton and tennis punish the same joints in the same ways. We rebuild the ankle, knee or shoulder that keeps going, and retrain the landing and cutting mechanics that caused it.

Single-leg landing assessment at the Bulletproof clinic
WHY IT KEEPS HAPPENING

The sprain heals. The mechanics do not.

Most court injuries are not freak accidents — they are the same overload, over and over. A rolled ankle that never regained its balance reaction. A knee that collapses inward on every landing. A shoulder that has lost the rotation it needs to spike or serve. Rest settles the swelling, then the first hard session sends you back to the start.

We test the specific thing your sport demands: single-leg landing, deceleration and change of direction, and overhead range under load. Then we rebuild the weak link and drill the mechanics until they hold when you are tired — because that is when court injuries actually happen.

  • Week-by-week plan matched to your surgery and your sport
  • Strength benchmarks at every phase — you always know where you stand
  • Return-to-sport testing before you step back on the court or pitch

COURT SPORTS FAQ

What players ask us

I have rolled the same ankle a dozen times. Is that fixable?
Usually, yes. Repeat sprains are rarely a ligament problem by the time we see you — they are a balance and reaction problem. The joint stopped trusting the ground. We retrain that reaction and rebuild the calf and hip strength that controls landing, then load it until it holds under fatigue.
Do I have to stop playing while I rehab?
Not always. Where it is safe we keep you playing at a reduced load and build around it — total rest costs you fitness and rarely fixes mechanics. Your Movement Specialist will tell you plainly if the honest answer is to sit out, and for how long.
How do you decide I am ready to return?
Criteria, not the calendar. Strength symmetry between limbs, hop and landing tests, movement quality under fatigue, and load tolerance across a week of training. You get the numbers, so returning is a decision you can see rather than a guess.
My shoulder hurts when I spike or serve. Same process?
Same process, different joint. We check overhead range, scapular control and rotator cuff strength, treat what is limiting you, then rebuild the overhead position under load before you go back to full-power hitting.
Do you work with actual teams?
We treat players from the PBA and from collegiate and club programmes, alongside weekend leaguers. The standard of assessment is the same either way.
